Physiotherapy
"Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with human function and movement and maximising potential:

it uses physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being, taking account of variations in health status

it is science-based, committed to extending, applying, evaluating and reviewing the evidence that underpins and informs its practice and delivery

the exercise of clinical judgement and informed interpretation is at its core."

Sports therapy, rehabilitation and massage
Both Russell and James have extensive experience as personal trainers and training for specific sporting events. As physiotherapists, we understand the need to continue rehabilitation once treatment has finished, and to incorporate sustainable changes into lifestyle and training. In order to do this, fitnizz work closely with energyburst, a leading and experienced brand of personal trainers within SW London.
Personal Training
Sports medicine encompasses preparation and training; prevention of injuries and illness, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illness and rehabilitation and return to physical activity and participation in sports, (Peterson & Renstrom 2001).
At fitnizz, we pride ourselves on our understanding of the motivating factors behind individuals recovering from injury. This promotes a joint approach enabling you to identify and overcome areas of potential weakness.
Core Stabily Assessment

It has been shown that the recruitment of deep-trunk muscles and how they are recruited is vital for dynamic movement. Hodges and Richardson (1996) showed that the co-contraction of the core muscles occurred prior to any movement of the limbs. This suggests that these muscles anticipate dynamic forces which may act on the lumbar spine and stabilise the area prior to any movement.

The deep trunk muscles include Transversus Abdominis, multifidus, Internal Oblique, paraspinal, pelvic floor, which are key to the active support of the lumbar spine. The co-contraction of these muscles produce forces via the "theracolumbar fascia" and the "intra-abdominal pressure" mechanism which stabilise the lumbar spine, and the paraspinal and multifidus muscles act directly to resist the forces acting on the lumbar spine.

At fitnizz we work with you to find how to reprogramme and utilise these muscles in day-to-day functional activities and for improving sporting performance.
